I love October, one of my favorite months. Cool sunny weather, leaves turning colors, the sounds of scuffling leaves as I walk outside, and the anticipation of Halloween, Thanksgiving, my husband’s birthday celebration, Christmas, New Year’s, and then Groundhog Day, by which time I’m exhausted from all the fun and tired of the cold and pray he doesn’t see his shadow. But the downside to October is that I have a lot of essays to grade. They pile up relentlessly, and I have to keep up with them. So, I don’t have a lot of time for writing my book or doing this blog.
But REELS to the rescue!! While I was contemplating not doing the blog at all this month because of all the other things I have to do, I accidentally came across this talk by a gerontologist whose attitude toward old age is the same as mine. So, I’m taking advantage of this serendipity and showing it to you. It’s very short. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1685266226225214

I love this, Julie. Thanking you for sharing it. I just had my 76th birthday and know that in many ways I am better than at any time before. I feel blessed.
Thanks, Nancy. That’s how I feel, too.
